Oh, Kate, sometimes you joggle my memory: without your questions, my mind would feel like an Old Age Home for Thoughts I believed long forgotten. I haven’t been to a graduation ceremony in years, but I had a friend who recently “graduated” from this life, and the 2 best pieces I remember using were: “He believed in Katherine Hepburn’s philosophy of, ‘If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.’ And a few years ago he decided, as Catherine Aird so eloquently put it, ‘If you can’t be a good example, then you’ll just have serve as a horrible warning.'”
