Out As A Teacher?

Were you out as a teacher or did you come out as you changed careers to
performing comedy?

I came out in January of 1978 and was having too much fun to return to teaching the next year. My fellow teachers tried to figure out the big morning, sleepy faced smiles. I did not come out then, because I really didn’t know what I was doing except having a mad time with a woman! They all know now and are very proud of me. At least the ones who get in touch.

Hey Kate:
Just caught your act at the Crown & Anchor; I was the one who raised the question with you afterwards about your mention that all five conservative Supremes are Catholic. Just did the research–they are! VERY interesting, and I’m surprised nobody (but you)
has noted that before. Our Holy Mother Church has much to answer for.
