Hi Kate:
This doesn’t really scare me; however, I am wondering about some of the products we buy… meaning, one day I will buy a bag of potato chips for the bag. It really is scary when shopping at the grocery store to see that the container costs more than its content. At work, we have a vending machine, a bag of chips cost .75 cents and there are hardly any chips in the bag… Oh well, go figure…

Normally I’d answer this kind of question reflecting on those things larger than me alone, the bigger, more important things in life. Over the last several weeks though, I’ve learned the one thing that scares me the most is being without love. I’ve recently been left by my partner of 10 years. We were engaged, have a home, pets, were integrated into each other’s families deeply, had many future plans. I never thought we’d part, it still shocks me. Not only being left the way I was, I still mourn the loss of the love of my life. And so I’ve found, I’m so scared of not having love in my life; I know it to be the reason why life is worth living. I cherish giving it as much as I savor getting it. It scares me to think I may never find love again.
