Currently? My i-pad, which has cut into my reading time. But, i did put it down over the holidays to read Urvashi Vaid’s “Irresistible Revolution: Confronting race, class, and the assumptions of LGBT politics”, as well as a couple of mystery novels: “Bone Bed” by Patricia Cornwell and “the Stranger You Seek” by Amanda Kyle Williams, which was a bit too gruesome for me. I agree with Urvashi’s point that the LGBT movement should embrace other causes, but at the same time believe that our recent legal progress has come from concerted efforts by organizations like HRC, Lambda Legal, and NCLR.

I’m reading Flight Behavior too and enjoying it very much. I love the way she interweaves issues about climate change, rural poverty, motherhood, marriage, friendship, class, etc. throughout the novel. Dellarobia is a great character, here’s hoping she comes out on top!
Also just finished “State of Wonder” by Anne Patchett. Another great story that had many layers, interesting science, and strong female characters. I highly recommend.

Half a Heart by Rosellen Brown, who wrote Before and After (which was made into a decent movie). I got this at a freecycle and have had it a while. The style is a little bit flowery but it’s interesting.
