Absolutely no contest!!! Madonna wins hands down. Her achievements have no equal. Madonna has led and others have followed. Gaga, of course, is a pretender. I will take her seriously when she has an original idea. You can’t last long on the scraps from the rich man’s table (or woman’s in this case)!!!!

Madonna of couse…. MADONNA IS IMMORTAL. even after 30 years shes the best. full of cool attitude…. gaga is predictable and shes on the edge of boring…. she is so inspired by madonna….. and the orifinal is so much better.i though gaga would be the new madonna.but she isnt…. she is more like the new britney. Madonna is surreal gaga is very predictble…. nothing new. and madonna decides all in her career.gaga doesnt. Madonna does it better always. gaga doesnt bring exctitemenet and gaga already flopped.ppl doesnt listen to gaga.ppl still listening to madonna and madonna is #1 that solds out her huge shows,Madonna is a legend…. gaga isnt its another wannabe that doesnt bring anything enw to pop music.madonna changed pop

Simply `Madonna`. She is the one who started it all. Over 30 years ago, this small, whirling Dervish hit our screens and eardrums with a fresh and eager attitude. Labelled as a one hit wonder, she proved everybody wrong. One of the first to put an image to her words/songs through her videos and performances, which were groundbreaking and theatrical. She really is an amazing performer, she courted controversy and pushed boundries, asking us all to `ask questions` and believe in ourselves.
If you could see the power and drive of the woman, the world would be hypnotised. The Gag-Gag is just a copycat, and if Madonna had a hunchback, it would be called Ga-Ga, she is bit like `Whatever Happened To Baby Jane`esque in her pursuit of mimicry. ANYONE, who dismisses Madonna in favour of the Gag-Gag should do theyre homework. I challenge you. Do some research, watch the videos, feel the songs and watch the Live Tours. You will see, Gag-Gag simply pales in comparison to Madonnas History and the Madonna we have yet to see.

Madonna, of course! She has changed the rules of music. She has done whatever someone can do: music, movies, books, gyms, clothing collections…..Everything! She has shocked the world!

Madonna. Why is this question still being asked? There is no comparison as Gaga has already burned out three years into her game. Adios.

Madonna. Of course. The first time I heard that ‘born this way’ song I thought is an older Madonna tune. I enjoy Gaga but Madonna is MADONNA>

Madonna created the archtype that they have all followed. she maximized media better than any celebrity since elvis presley. she continues to push boundaries in variousediumx of media. Gaga on the other hand latches onto trends and mimics artistic expressions of others. as brittney spears eloquently stated on vma’s when gaga tried to kiss her… been there ( done that )

Oo, I agree with Mary. But since k.d. wasn’t an option, I’m gonna say Madonna… but only for now. Hard to compare a 30-year career to a 4-year career.

I’m beginning to believe that this is comparing apples and oranges. Madonna was the original breakthrough artist, with the shocking storytelling videos and the compelling music, and there could be no Gaga without Madonna (the same way there could be no third-wave feminists without the second wave’s achievements!). But Gaga is starting to evince a truly amazing range — vocally, musically, and creatively — that I think Madonna wasn’t able to reach. Listening to Gaga’s duet with Tony Bennett, then watching some of her live performances — she’s just plain amazing.
But if I were going to pick my favorite, most amazing female vocalist? Hands down, it’s Janelle Monae. Her range is, I think, even greater than Gaga’s; she’s more daring gender-wise and has even more electric live performances. You can compare her “Many Moons” music video to Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, and I think that “Many Moons” would come out on top in terms of depth of content and exploration.

And why not both. Do you remember when it was “Cyndi Lauper or Madonna?” and folks said that Madonna would never last. Well both did and are much loved…

Gaga….she ‘out’-wardly does more for LGBT rights than any other ‘chica’ star.
